How Numerous Religions Fit Simultaneously On The Same Planet
#TITLE#What Can be True In A Globe Divided By Many Religions?#/TITLE# by Heather V. Cantu Humanity has seen great destruction at the hands of those with differing spiritual views across time and history. We have witnessed the terrors that a single group of people have imposed upon another, time and time again, in the name of religion. There are those that see a little bit of truth in almost all other faiths, but view their faith as better. Then, there is the group of exclusivist individuals that think their views are correct, and the others are simply all wrong – this is often the thing that causes most dissension between groups. Generally major world religions believe that they are the one true religion. Perhaps the most destructive thing is when religious groups hold that all other groups are mistaken, sinful, and inferior – and therefore are deserving of being maltreated, and in some cases tortured. They believe other spiritual organizations will experience some kind of penalties after death. Inside some religions, all women are deemed to be inferior to all men. Some other faiths have rationalized the actual enslavement of other individuals through their religious beliefs. Individuals with differing sexual orientations have been deemed sinners Clare Bronfman . A number of organizations have even killed huge populations of men and women in the name of religion. I really consider that things can certainly be a lot better. I see that communities can exist, where many faiths color the voice of the community, each bringing a unique collection of beliefs to the table, bettering the whole. I believe that global peace, civil rights, freedom, equality, good government, and differing religious views can all be housed in the same room. Although a grand idea, the real question is, can it happen? Could it be that cooperation between people of different religions isn’t so far off? What would happen if people began to view each other as human, and with compassion? Our human nature is, ultimately, the single element which ties us all together. It’s likely that we’re all inspired and propelled by a lot of the same basic principles. We’re all conflicted by many of the same troubles. It is my thought that an understanding of how similar to one another we really are could be the key to basic compassion for one another Nancy Salzman, President of NXIVM Corporation and Executive Success Programs. This want to destroy and punish one another could be a thing of the past if we could one day look into each other’s eyes and see a reflection of ourselves – a person that lives, has feelings, and wants certain things in life. In a beautiful sentence, Keith Raniere poses the idea that we as humans have the potential to be noble; whether we will or not is to be seen. I recently came across this quote and learned of an organization called NXIVM that is doing extraordinary things to build a more compassionate, joyful humanity. The goals of the company have gained the approval of the Dalai Lama, who traveled to Albany, NY to get to know the company and people.
