Fixing a Leaky Pipe
If you have a leaky pipe, the first thing you need to do is to turn off the water. Next turn on the faucet that is at the end of the leaky pipe so as much of the water runs out of the line as is possible and to relieve pressure from the line.
If the leak is in a pvc pipe, you can just cut out the section of pipe and get fittings at any nearby home improvement store to glue a new section in place. If it is a steel pipe, for a fast temporary fix, you can wrap a piece of rubber around the leak, then get a steel hose clamp around the rubber to stop the leak. If it is a small leak and the pipe is dry, you can purchase plumbing compounds that can fix the leak as well. It is always best to call a professional plumber if the leak is serious or one you can not fix yourself. If you are in Kennesaw, Ga and need a Kennesaw plumber contact www.kennesawplumbing.net
